Pamela E. Harper RN, BSN
Pam Harper, the Center Director of The Children’s Secret Garden, earned her A.S.
degree in Respiratory Therapy and A.S. degree in Nursing from Delaware Technical
& Community College and B.S. in nursing from the University of Delaware. She
began her career as a Respiratory Therapist in 1977. After becoming a R.N. in
1983, Pam worked as a critical care nurse in local area hospitals and for various
home health companies with adult and pediatric patients. Pam has taken numerous
Early Childhood Education classes and continues to do so.
It was caring for children with special medical needs in home care and a Prescribed
Pediatric Care Center (PPEC) that Pam developed an interest in Early Childhood
Education. She recognized a need for children with medical needs to have a place to
receive safe, high quality care among their peers. From there, the concept behind
The Children’s Secret Garden began to take shape and our center opened in
January 2000.
